Registered Nurse - Emergency room and long-term care

Our Hospital and Nursing Home are located in the Town of Arnprior, less than 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa. 
There are approximately 380 staff, 200 volunteers, and a growing number of medical staff providing exemplary care to over 30,000 residents of West Ottawa, McNab/Braeside, Arnprior and portions of Mississippi Mills. 
We are currently looking to hire Registered Nurses for the major hospital and nursing homes in Arnprior Ontario, a short 35 minute drive from Canada's capital Ottawa. 

We are growing! A significant redevelopment project is currently underway for our nursing home which is increasing from 60 beds, to 96 beds to better support our community. 

We have a need for Registered Nurses (RN's) in the following departments:
Emergency Room Nurses (ER RN)
Operating Room Nurses (OR RN)
Inpatient Unit Nurses (IPU RN)
Long-Term Care Nurses  Nursing Home RN)

Open RN Roles

Emergency Room Nurses:
qualifications:

  • Completed Emergency Nursing Certificate or similar course in the ER field
  • Completed Trauma nursing care course an asset
  • Completed Pediatric Advanced Life Support course an asset
  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Pays attention to detail and highly organized
  • Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff
  • Ability to work well independently and exercise sound judgement
  • Adapts well to changing environment for stressful situations
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
  • Ability to administer IV Therapy
  • Excellent communication skills

Operating Room Nurses
qualifications:

  • Perioperative certificate (required)
  • CNA Perioperative Nursing Certification an asset
  • Recent Operating Room nursing experience (required)
  • Current BCLS/C.P.R. Certification
  • Recent Post Anesthetic care experience preferred
  • Ability to function completely as a surgical team member in either the scrub or circulating role involving all services
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records


Long-Term Care Nurses:
qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Previous Geriatric experience
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Works well with others
  • Punctual
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills

 
Inpatient Unit Nurses:
qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
  • Ability to interpret Electrocardiogram
  • Coronary Care Course
  • In good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff
  • Pays attention to detail and very organized
  • Ability to work well independently and exercise sound judgement
  • Adapts well to changing environment for stressful situations
  • Excellent communication skills
